Terms of Service

Effective date: June 11, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Fridge iOS app and the website at https://fridge.longheval.com(together, "the Service"), operated by Louis-Nicolas Longheval in Belgium("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Fridge helps you track the food in your household, share fridges with household members, receive expiry reminders, and — with a premium subscription — get AI-generated recipe suggestions. The Service is under active development; features may be added, changed, or removed over time.

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • You may delete your account at any time in the App under Settings → Delete Account.

3. Households and Shared Content

When you join a household — or invite others to yours using an invite code — the members of that household can see the shared fridges, the items in them (including photos and notes), and the names of other members. Only share invite codes with people you trust. Household owners can manage the household and its members.

4. Premium Subscription

  • Some features (such as recipe suggestions, multiple fridges, and appearance customization) require a paid Premium subscription.
  • Subscriptions are offered as auto-renewing monthly or annual plans, purchased through the Apple App Store. The price is shown in the App before you confirm a purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device). Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store terms. If you are a consumer in the EU, you acknowledge that the subscription begins immediately, and that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery of the digital content has begun.

5. AI-Generated Content and Food Safety

Recipe suggestions are generated by artificial intelligence and are provided for inspiration only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your dietary needs. Always verify ingredients, allergens, dietary suitability, and safe cooking practices yourself.

Expiry dates and reminders in the App are a convenience tool based on the information you enter. They are nota substitute for your own judgment: always check the actual condition of food and the manufacturer's date labels before consuming it. We accept no liability for spoiled food, allergic reactions, or other harm resulting from reliance on the App's suggestions or reminders.

6. Third-Party Price Information

Where the App displays store prices for scanned products, this data is sourced from an unofficial third-party dataset. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any retailer, and prices may be inaccurate, outdated, or specific to a single store location. Price information is provided for convenience only — use it at your own risk.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you add to the Service (items, photos, notes). You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process this content solely to operate and provide the Service, including sharing it with the members of your household. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or circumvent subscription restrictions;
  • Reverse-engineer the App except where permitted by applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, with notice where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as sections 5, 10, and 11) will survive.

10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — please do not use the App as your only record of important information.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If you are a consumer in the EU, your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

11. Apple App Store

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use of it must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service. These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. For significant changes, we will notify you in the App. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
